Bed & Breakfast
Yearle House offers you a choice of four ensuite bedrooms with a guest drawing room, sun room and dining room with fast Wi-Fi available throughout. There are a few acres of grounds to explore including a walled garden which is ideal for relaxing in on a beautiful day.
The bedrooms are available individually or as a whole in an exclusive use or combined with two or more cottages in a private house party. There is a minimum of two nights per stay, although we frequently have one-night gaps, so please do get in touch directly if you need a stopover as we are ideally positioned to break up a journey from the South to the Very North!
Bedrooms
Each of the bedrooms at Yearle House has been uniquely styled and furnished, with feature bathrooms all equipped with large baths and separate walk-in showers. Our beds are capped with thousand-pocket spring mattresses, topped and dressed with fine Egyptian cotton-covered goose down.
If at any point during your stay you would like a cup of tea or coffee, we invite you to visit the pantry on the first floor by the bedrooms to help yourself to a selection of complimentary hot drinks and some home-made delicious treats.
All of our bedrooms in the House include breakfast served in the Dining Room and complimentary Wi-Fi. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out is by 10am.
Lilburn
Our largest bedroom, Lilburn is incredibly bright and spacious and furnished with a super king bed (can be twinned) and a daybed with trundle, meaning there is space for up to four guests to relax in great comfort. Should there be only two of you then you have the luxury of your own daybed to recline on in the bay window and survey the parkland while enjoying a drink in the comfort of your own room.
As with all the bathrooms in Yearle House, we have endeavoured to create unique havens to soak and pamper and Lilburn is no different. Wallow in the restored antique roll-top bath with incredible views up into the hills.
Glendale
Looking to the south and east and south, Glendale’s views are some of our favourite and make this incredibly comfortable super king sized bedroom one of our most popular, but this might also have something to do with the gigantic bathroom, boasting double sinks, enormous bath and separate vast shower. Like its neighbour Harthope, Glendale offers the added privacy of being a suite, whereby the bathroom is accessed from your own corridor, keeping the proportions of the bedroom and allowing for a more than generous bathroom.
Harthope
Facing towards the south and east, Harthope’s vista ranges out over the fields and far away and also up to the hills, an ideal spot to rest in the king-sized bed. However, you may also be drawn to run a bath in what could be the finest spot to ablute in the land! Raised up in the bathroom bay window lies a gigantic, refurbished antique bath with 180-degree views of the surrounding landscape, perfect to soak in while taking in the beauty of north Northumberland. There is also a very generous shower, should you require one. Like its neighbour Glendale, Harthope offers the added privacy of being a suite, whereby the bathroom is accessed from your own corridor, keeping the proportions of the bedroom and allowing for a more than generous bathroom.
Earle
Looking up into the hills is Earle, a suite with king-sized bed that is ideal to recuperate in following a long day exploring or relaxing. indeed the restored antique bath is begging to be dipped into to replenish the weary bones. A separate walk-in shower offers a speedier option to cleanse.
Food & Drink
Yearle House offers a well thought-through local and seasonal breakfast menu, highlighting some of the producers from Wooler and slightly further afield. You can also help yourself to a range of seasonal fruit, yoghurts and home-made granola.
If you book all of the bedrooms in the house, we offer a range of evening meal ideas, from delicious home cooked sideboard suppers where you and your guests are invited to help yourselves to a choice of firm family favourites, followed by pudding and cheese in a relaxed supper party style with wine on the table. If you would prefer to have a more formal affair, then be our guest and we will happily talk you through our Dinner Party menu ideas!
The Drawing Room
The house is situated amongst rolling fields and hills and the Drawing Room is an ideal place to drink in the sweeping, uninterrupted views. A light and spacious room for our guests to relax, read the paper or magazine, and enjoy a drink from the honesty bar, we hope that our home is your own home from home.
Gardens & Grounds
Yearle House sits in just over 3 acres of grounds, with lawns next to the House, a lower walled garden with box hedging and some woods around and about. As our guest, please feel free to explore the gardens and grounds but please do bear in mind others’ privacy in the Cottages and that these areas are work in progress, so the paths and steps may be unstable, not to mention you might see the odd thistle!
